About Chris Johnson

Christian started playing guitar at age 8. In jr. high during the early 70’s he started playing in bands and played lead guitar in his 8th grade music class’ performance of The Who’s rock opera “Tommy.”

In high school Christian studied jazz and rock privately with Chicago area pro Bill Rupert. He played in several bands while getting paid for his first professional gigs. After attending Montana State University for a short time, he moved to Hollywood and attended the Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT), graduating in 1979. While there he studied with Joe Diorio, Don Mock, Ron Eschte and Howard Alden. Christian also had the privilege of attending seminars with Larry Carlton, Pat Metheny, and the late Howard Roberts, Joe Pass, Tommy Tedesco, and Lenny Breu.

After graduating, Christian was a working pro guitarist and taught private lessons for a few years. After a career in the corporate world, he started Adrian Guitars in 2002. In 2005, the name was changed to Blue Dot Guitars. Starting in 1998, he began playing lead guitar at Willamette Christian Church, and is currently filling that role regularly. Christian is a skilled luthier and guitar tech and a Fender Authorized warranty technician. With his deep playing experience and technical knowledge, he can get your playing skills and tone up to where you want them to be.
